How long it stays
A consumer proposal is generally reported for about 3 years after you complete it, with some bureaus also using a maximum from the filing date. Check each bureau's report after completion.
Common errors afterwards
Accounts included in the proposal still showing balances owing or new late payments after filing. They should show as included in the proposal with no balance.
How to fix them
Get your certificate of full performance from your trustee and send it with a written dispute to both bureaus and to each lender still reporting a balance.
